As a Korean, I have a deep understanding of Korean culture. Language is a part of culture. It’s important to understand the culture to use the language better. I explain the Korean culture so that the students can learn better.
3. Active interaction
Just listening to the teacher explaining is hard to improve language skills. Active interaction between the student and the teacher is effective.
I've been teaching Korean for 1 year to Greek students. Based on this experience, I'm keep trying to improve the class for students to learn Korean better. Not only learning Korean in theory but also practicing in fun ways. Thankfully, the students have been enthusiastic and steadily improving the Korean.
1. The Korean language and culture are interesting. When students discover the enjoyment, as a Korean teacher, I feel enjoyable. It gives me energy to be a better teacher.
2. Watching students improve is a wonderful experience. It’s great to meet new students and let them find the joy of learning Korean.
I try to make students participate in the class. Not only listening, but also reading, and writing. Using various senses is helpful in learning the language. And planning the class for students to be interested in is important. We shouldn’t feel too serious about learning a new language. It should be fun and interesting. Also, I understand that every student has different needs when it comes to learning, so I'm trying to be a flexible teacher.
