I chose to teach Chinese because I am passionate about sharing the beauty and richness of the Chinese language and culture with others. Teaching allows me to help students connect with a language that is not only widely spoken but also deeply rooted in history and tradition. I find it incredibly rewarding to see my students make progress, gain confidence, and develop a genuine interest in the language. By teaching Chinese, I also have the opportunity to build cultural bridges and foster mutual understanding between different parts of the world.
To understand my students’ Chinese learning needs, I begin by conducting an initial assessment and open conversation. I ask about their language goals, current proficiency level, and specific areas they want to focus on, such as speaking, listening, reading, or writing. I also inquire about their learning preferences and interests to make lessons engaging and relevant. Throughout the teaching process, I closely observe their progress and provide regular opportunities for feedback to ensure my lessons align with their evolving needs. This personalized approach helps me create a learning plan that is both effective and enjoyable for each student.
